d’Arenberg The Cadenzia Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre

In 2004, some of McLaren Vale’s top winemakers agreed to each release a wine under the name ‘Cadenzia’. Cadenzia has been taken from the meaning of cadenza, ‘a soloist virtuoso’, as inspiration to
each winemaker to produce a wine with distinct regional identity featuring Grenache. This is an exciting group project designed to showcase the region’s Grenache-based wines. Grenache was
chosen because it is a particularly good variety to show the influence the winemaker’s art can have on the expression of the variety’s characteristics.

The Cadenzia range of wines are all sealed utilizing the innovative South Australian designed ‘Zork’ seal in place of the traditional cork stopper. Initial industry trials have proven Zork sealing qualities
eliminating the effects of wine spoilage from oxidation and cork taint.

Why Cadenzia?

Cadenzia is the first Australian wine and brand that explores a regional variety, its characters and attributes involving a defined criteria that involves a 3rd party tasting and approval of endorsement. All
participants of Cadenzia programme share the following Cadenzia branding slogans ‘Outstanding Virtuoso’

A cadenza is an impassioned improvisation played by a virtuoso soloist towards the end of a musical performance.

‘Outstanding Winemaking’

Cadenzia is made in celebration of the winemaker’s opportunity, after vintage, to blend an exceptional McLaren Vale wine around the Grenache variety.
